Ganglion impar block in patients with chronic coccydynia

Introduction: Coccydynia refers to pain in the terminal segment of spine caused by abnormal sitting and standing posture. is usually managed conservatively; however, nonresponsive patients, ganglion impar block used as a good alternate modality for relief. Aim Objective: The aim this article study effect coccydynia patients who were not relieved conservative management.Materials Methods: This prospective was conducted at postgraduate department Orthopedics, Govt. Bone Joint Hospital, Barzillai, Srinagar an associated Hospital Medical College from January 2019 December 2019. In 22 with coccygodynia had responded treatment enrolled.Results: A significant decrease found mean VAS scores 9 1.20 follow-up 12 months. Following technically successful, 21 (95.45%) least 50% During injections, one patient developed vasovagal symptoms flushing after procedure. No other side-effects or complications encountered during follow-up.Conclusion: Ganglion shows long‑term effectiveness providing relief trans‑Sacro‑coccygeal “needle inside needle” technique.
